Senior strength & fitness certification
Strength Age Facilitator Certification
Add the skills to train seniors safely and well — screening, senior-safe progression, functional movement, and assessment — from a team that trains seniors and only seniors.
Admission is by application · The working credential every Fit Kaki coach holds

Why Fit Kaki
Learn senior strength from the specialists
Most trainers meet seniors occasionally. We meet nobody else.
Seniors are all we do
Every session we run — at our studio and at community locations — is senior strength training. No general classes, no split focus. This is our entire craft.
A working system, not theory
This certification is the pathway our own coaches complete, refined across real cohorts at our Eunos studio and community partner locations.
Tested against real outcomes
Our methods are measured. Strength Age and SAI progress tracking mean what we teach is what demonstrably works with real seniors, week after week.
The skill of the decade
By 2030, about one in four Singaporeans will be 65 or older. Senior-specific coaching is the most valuable skill a trainer can add — and the rarest.
Who it's for
For trainers — and for beginners with the right heart
The pathway takes motivated beginners to competence, and gives experienced trainers the senior-specific layer general certifications skip. It suits:
- personal trainers and instructors adding senior-specific skills
- staff of gyms and community organisations that serve seniors
- caregivers who want to guide a parent safely at home
- people exploring meaningful work with seniors
The curriculum
What you'll learn
Six modules, from the science of ageing bodies to the craft of coaching them — including how to conduct the Strength Age Assessment.
- Module 1
How ageing changes training
What happens to muscle, bone, and balance with age — and what it means for programming, load, and pace when the person in front of you is 70, not 30.
- Module 2
Screening and safety
Pre-exercise screening, medical red flags, when to refer, and the clear escalation steps when a senior reports pain or discomfort.
- Module 3
Movements for daily life
The functional strength patterns behind chairs, stairs, carrying, and balance — and how to demonstrate and teach them to seniors, step by step.
- Module 4
Progressions and regressions
How to adjust every movement up or down for ability, conditions, and confidence — so training stays challenging, comfortable, and safe.
- Module 5
Coaching seniors as people
Patient communication, building confidence, respecting dignity, and running small groups where every senior feels seen and safe.
- Module 6
Assessment and progress
How to conduct Fit Kaki's Strength Age Assessment — strength and movement checks, the posture snapshot — and track meaningful change over time.

One clear boundary
What the certificate is for
The skills are yours to keep and use. The Fit Kaki and Strength Age programmes and brands are not.
With your certificate, you can
Use senior-specific coaching skills in your own training practice
Guide yourself or your own family — like a parent — through safe strength training
State that you hold the Strength Age Facilitator Certification with employers, clients, and organisations
It does not allow you to
Represent Fit Kaki or present yourself as Fit Kaki staff
Run or commercially market the Strength Age Signature programme — that needs a separate licence
Use the Fit Kaki or Strength Age name, logo, or branding commercially without written approval
Two examples: a personal trainer can use everything here with their own senior clients. A caregiver can run safe strength sessions at home with their own parent. Neither can run it under the Fit Kaki or Strength Age name — or offer the Strength Age Signature programme — without written approval.
Questions
Certification questions
Do I need fitness experience to apply?
No. The certification is designed to take motivated beginners to competence — it is the same pathway every Fit Kaki coach completes. Experienced trainers move faster through the fundamentals and go deeper on the senior-specific layer.
I'm already a certified trainer — what does this add?
General certifications prepare you for general populations. This one goes deep on what changes with age: screening, senior-safe progression, confidence-building, and assessment. It is the difference between being able to accept senior clients and being genuinely good with them.
Does the certification expire?
No. This is an educational certificate and does not expire. We may invite certificate holders to optional refreshers as the programme evolves.
Can I run Fit Kaki classes after I'm certified?
The skills are yours to use — with your own clients, yourself, or your family. The Fit Kaki and Strength Age programmes and brands are not: the certificate does not license you to run the Strength Age Signature programme or use the Fit Kaki or Strength Age names commercially. You can, of course, state that you hold the Strength Age Facilitator Certification. If you want to coach with Fit Kaki, this certification is the first step — mention it in your application email.
How is the course delivered?
It is blended: self-paced video modules covering the foundations and theory, plus in-person practical sessions at our Eunos studio where you practise coaching under guidance.
